About MCAS
Muthayammal College of Arts & Science is a self-financing, co-educational institute affiliated to Periyar University, Salem & Accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC embarked on its educational career in 1994 with only 5 undergraduate courses. At the time of inception, 83 students enrolled themselves to pursue their studies. Since its establishment, it has been a steady growth despite journeying through challenges and the college has grown from strength to strength to feed education at present to a mass of 4844 students. Now it offers 17 Undergraduate Programmes, 15 Postgraduate Programmes and 8 M.Phil and 4 Ph.d Research Programmes catering to the needs of the student community.
It not only caters to the need of Rasipuram and neighbouring areas but also draws a good number of students from the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka & also from the north-eastern states like Manipur, Tripura etc. Some of the students from foreign countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Yemen, Sri Lanka and Bhutan have also enrolled themselves as the students of MCAS.
